RACV has a long history of assisting Victorians. It has provided a valuable and valued service to millions of Victorians since it was formed as a motorists' social club in 1903. As a Victorian business built on servicing the needs of its members, RACV takes seriously its broader obligations as a responsible corporate citizen. It has been actively involved in Victorian community activities for many years.
The RACV Community Foundation was established in July 1997 to manage the RACV's continuing support for charities and worthwhile community causes.
The RACV Community Foundation's objectives are to seek funds and distribute them to the community in accordance with guidelines determined from time to time by the Trustee (RACV Ltd). The funds are administered by a committee appointed by the Trustee. The Committee makes recommendations on where funds are distributed. The Foundation has distributed nearly $1.5 million to over 300 local and community organisations served by RACV for a variety of worthy causes.
Financially, its objectives are to build and maintain a significant capital base. Over time, the RACV Community Foundation is expected to become a significant source of philanthropic funds to the Victorian community.
Grant Guidelines for 2008/09 are available below, the next closing date for Grant Applications is scheduled for Friday 10 July 2009.
Contributions to the RACV Community Foundation are tax deductible and are sought from individuals and organisations sharing the philosophy of the RACV Community Foundation. Many members have already made generous contributions.
