Driving lessons for elderly drivers in Victoria
The aim of the RACV Drive School Elderly Drivers’ Program is to provide professional advice about your driving ability and offer driving lessons, practical tuition and solutions to assist you in maintaining your mobility.
Our Driving School has instructors who have been specially trained to provide you with the best driver instruction and feedback possible. We will provide you with information and guidance, and offer an honest assessment of your driving.

who should attend?
This course has been designed for drivers:
- who simply want an assessment on their own driving ability
- who have family members who are concerned about their safety
- who are undergoing a VicRoads licence assessment
- who have lost confidence in their own driving ability, and feel an update may assist.
If you are part of a community or social group RACV also offers the Years Ahead - road safety for elderly drivers program, a one hour information and awareness session free of charge. The program presents road safety information to assist older drivers to remain safe on the road.

The Senior Drivers’ program is available in two session lengths, standard and extended.
The standard session with an expert RACV Drive School instructor runs for 60 minutes and costs $68 (including GST) each for RACV members or $85 (including GST) for non-members. More than one lesson may be required dependent on individual situations. This is suitable for anyone who has already completed their first session, or those who simply require a confidence boost or assessment of their driving ability.
Extended sessions are available for those who feel they may benefit from additional tuition or assistance to improve confidence in their ability on the road. Extended sessions run for 75 minutes and cost $85 (including GST) each for RACV members or $106 (including GST) for non-members.
