4WD car inspection - vehicle inspections - RACV
RACV trained vehicle inspectors can conduct on-site vehicle inspections of your 4WD or one you are considering purchasing. The basic 4WD car inspection is suitable for people who are purchasing a 4WD for its size and space, rather than its off-road capabilities.
Among the many checks RACV's trained inspectors will conduct is a visual inspection and road test of the steering and suspension components.
RACV recommend you have these items further checked in detail within a workshop environment if you intend to use the vehicle off road.
Some components can only be assessed when removed for servicing. Therefore, as with all vehicles, scheduled maintenance is required to help ensure safe and reliable motoring.
The vehicle inspection is based on a visual external examination of components only. Components are not dismantled to examine internal parts. Some vehicle faults can be diagnosed only by dismantling the engine or are intermittent in operation and not evident from an external examination at the time of inspection.
