4WD vehicle inspection - enquire online

The basic 4WD inspection is suitable for people who are purchasing a 4WD for its size and space, rather than its off-road capabilities.

RACV members receive a discounted price of $218 (non member price: $290). Please note that there are some vehicles that we cannot inspect; if this is the case you will be informed prior to the inspection.

You must have the following details to complete your booking:

• the address and suburb where the vehicle to be inspected will be located
• the make, model and year of manufacture of the vehicle
• the name and contact number of the seller of the vehicle
• any modifications that have been made to the vehicle (for example if the vehicle has been converted to a camper van)

Once you have completed the submitted the online enquiry form below, we will contact you within the next business day to confirm the time and place for the inspection. If you would like to speak to someone immediately regarding a booking, please call us on 13 RACV (13 7228).

The vehicle must be in a driveable condition, and can be inspected at an RACV Vehicle Inspection Centre or onsite at a private address. If the inspection is at a private address, there must be off-street parking available on a solid, flat surface. For inspections at a business address, the car park must not be bigger than 10 spaces, with no through traffic or access to the public. There must be an empty spot on either side of the vehicle. RACV will not test vehicles in underground or multilevel car parks.

If an inspector deems the area unsafe, the booking will be cancelled and a $50 cancellation fee will apply.

Any cancellations or changes to a booking must be made by 6pm the day before the inspection. Any cancellations made on the day of the inspection will incur a $50 cancellation fee.
