![]() Every year in Victoria about 350 people die on our roads and as many as 25 per cent of fatalities could be due to driving while tired. The two main causes of driving while feeling tired are a lack of quality sleep and driving at times when you would normally be asleep. Being awake for 17 hours has the same affect on driving as having a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) of .05, doubling your risk of crashing. After being awake for 24 hours the BAC equivalent is 0.1, equating to a 7 times greater risk of crashing than someone who is well rested. links |
