RACV offers a one hour awareness session for older road users, giving information and advice on driving safely.

This session is delivered by specially trained RACV presenters and is offered to groups of older people.

This includes groups such as senior citizens clubs, Probus clubs, church groups and retirement villages, and is available in most parts of Victoria.

    This presentation covers:

    • Driving and road safety tips for drivers, passengers and pedestrians
    • The importance of choosing a safe vehicle
    • The importance of being fit to drive
    • The impact of health and medications on driving
    • How to assess your own driving ability
    • Information about alternative transport options
    • How to plan for future mobility.

Since the program was launched in March 1997, over 50,000 people have participated in a Years Ahead session. For more information download the Years Ahead program brochure.
