It's important to understand the road rules wherever your journey takes you. RACV is often asked to clarify Victoria's road rules and this page has a number of links to help.

 

Travellers from interstate or overseas, need to be aware there are a number of differences in the road rules when driving on Victorian roads. The most important differences have been highlighted on VicRoads' (the road authority in Victoria) website.

 

VicRoads also provides information on the road rules through the ‘Driving in Victoria: rules and responsibilities’ which summarises the main Victorian road rules. The ‘Victorian Rider handbook’ by VicRoads contains information on the road rules as they relate to motorcycle use. A full copy of the road rules is available for download from the Victorian Legislation website.
