RACV notes that the Federal Infrastructure and Transport Minister and Nationals MP, Darren Chester, has expressed support for “more infrastructure funding flowing to Victoria”, as reported in The Age on 15 May 2016.

Mr Chester suggested that one such project could be the “missing” North East Link, from the Ring Road at Greensborough to EastLink.
Victorian Treasurer, Tim Pallas MP, described the link as innately sensible and that he would wait for the recommendations of Infrastructure Victoria. The next report is due from Infrastructure Victoria tomorrow.

The North East Link has already obtained the support of the State Liberal Party.

RACV has previously blogged about the absence of Federal support for the North East Link. This statement by the Federal Minister and Member for Gippsland suggests that Federal support may be coming, but RACV notes that it is not yet expressly supported by the National or Liberal parties as part of their re-election campaigns.

Use this form to send an e-mail to candidates to tell them that the North East Link is an important priority for you, as well as the other road and public transport projects identified by RACV.
