Users of RACV’s Mobile Tyres service can be sure their used tyres will be taken care of sustainably, with Mobile Tyres now accredited by Tyre Stewardship Australia (TSA).

TSA promotes environmentally sustainable collection and recycling of tyres, which can be used for road surfacing, soft-fall playgrounds, brake pads, flooring and in civil engineering.

Australians generate 56 million used tyres every year. Of these, 10 per cent are recycled domestically, 27 per cent are exported as an alternative fuel, and the remainder go to landfill, are stockpiled or illegally dumped.

Simon Mikedis, RACV manager environmental sustainability, says the TSA accreditation means users of the service can rest assured that their old tyres won’t meet that fate.

RACV Mobile Tyres will come to your home or workplace six days a week to deliver and fit new tyres and take away the old ones. Members save 10 per cent on the service. Go to racv.com.au/mobiletyres.
