Free school holiday activities

RACV RoyalAuto magazine

School holidays

From marshmallow flowers to dragon nests, we’ve brought together the best free activities to keep holidaying kids, tweens and teens occupied over the Easter break. If you can spare up to a tenner, we’ve thrown in some cheap events too. And if this list doesn’t cover your area, try your local council or library for activities close to home.

Dragon nests

If your kids have an active imagination and don’t mind a walk, head to the Dandenong Ranges to explore the hand-made dragons’ nests tucked beside the Neuman Track in the Sherbrooke Forest near Kallista. Walk quietly and you might spot a lyrebird, wallaby or echidna.
