Gifts for people who are hard to buy for

Giving a gift

Some people are just impossible … that is, impossible to buy gifts for. Every Christmas you stress out wondering just what you’re going to get them.

So you wander around the shopping centre and/or scroll through endless websites. You make a list but it’s still not quite right for that particular person.

Luckily, we’ve done the hard work for you and come up with gifts that should suit most people on your hard-to-buy-for list. And even better, as an RACV member you get great discounts on all these great gift ideas.

Your boss

Last year you bought them your go-to impressive bottle of shiraz. This year, go in another direction completely. Chip in with your colleagues and get a Shark Dive Xtreme experience at Sea Life Melbourne Aquarium. They’ll think it’s jawsome!

Mother-in-law

Your mother-in-law has toiled away over the holidays preparing a feast to feed a village and will be so deserving of a pamper package. So treat her to a Peninsula Hot Springs experience on the Mornington Peninsula, especially the Dine and Bathe package so that for once she doesn’t have to do the cooking.

Grandpa

You’ve probably been buying Gramps the same gift for many years, and he’s probably been too polite to comment. But he deserves a special holiday gift to make him smile, so give him a night out at Melbourne’s exclusive live magic show, Impossible Occurrences. This experience will leave him astonished.

The little ones

There’s no better way to escape the summer heat than a few hours in an air-conditioned cinema. So treat your little nieces, nephews or younger cousins to Ferdinand or Paddington 2, where you can also get a dose of cuteness. If they are a little older, treat them to a lesson of culture with Jumanji 2 (even though you know the original will always be better) or Pitch Perfect 3. To ensure you will be their favourite person these holidays, remember that RACV members can access discounts at the candy bar!

Giving back

Oh no! Someone unexpected has ambushed you with a gift! Usually you aren’t prepared for something like this, however this year you’ve got it all sorted with a gift that keeps on giving. The Penguin Foundation has an adoption program to preserve Phillip Island’s natural environment, and you can even name your little penguin.
