How does your suburb rate in RACV’s annual suburb-by-suburb burglary analysis?

The regional suburbs of Ardmona, Coomboona, Mooroopna, Mooroopna North and Undera are the state’s top burglary hot spot, according to RACV’s suburb-by-suburb annual burglary analysis.

The suburbs make up postcode 3629 on the outskirts of Shepparton, where the burglary rate spiked from one in 49 homes burgled in 2017 to one in 23 in 2018.

Overall, burglary rates in Victoria have dropped, with the latest Victoria Police statistics showing the average burglary rate fell 10 per cent this year, from one in 69 homes burgled in 2017 to one in 76 homes in 2018.

Non-aggravated burglary is down 17 per cent since 2017, and aggravated burglary is down 10 per cent.

Eight out of last year’s top 10 greater Melbourne and regional Victoria hotspots saw improvements in crime rates, except for Broadmeadows, Dallas and Jacana, which saw an increase from one in 32 to one in 31 homes burgled, while the burglary rate in Diggers Rest, Corio, Norlane and North Shore were unchanged.
