RACV has released its annual digital burglary map and in-depth analysis of the latest burglary statistics to help people across Victoria understand the risk of burglary in their suburb.

The RACV has updated the release this year with a new interactive digital burglary map, which provides Victorians with an important insight into the likelihood of burglary in their suburb.

The map and statistics form part of a raft of member and community services RACV provides as one of Australia’s largest mutual organisations, says RACV Home Services Security Solutions Product Manager Toly Christofakakis.

“As a mutual our obligation is to be an advocate for our 2.1 million members and to provide information and advice to members and the broader community,” he says.

“We are security experts so we see our role to contextualise the information we come across to help our members better manage their risk – our annual burglary statistics release is a great example of this.”

One of the key differences between RACV and many other businesses is that it is a mutual.

This means RACV makes decisions with greater emphasis on long-term member benefit, says Toly.

“We have the opportunity to do things like the annual digital burglary statistics  which helps members to be better informed – and there’s a lot of reward in that from a personal perspective.”
