RACV offers a one hour awareness session for older drivers called Years Ahead - road safety for seniors. The presentation provides information and advice on driving safely and aims to promote safer road user behaviours, continued mobility and quality of life for older people.

Years Ahead started in 1997 and has been delivered to more than 120,000 people. Our presenters deliver the presentation to approximately 180 community groups each year.

The short videos below provide further information about road safety for older drivers, including a brief introduction to Years Ahead. They also outline three important road safety topics covered by the Years Ahead presentation - Vehicle Safety, Health and Driving, and Your Driving Future.

You can download the Years Ahead brochure for further information.

To book a Years Ahead session call RACV on (03) 9790 2915.

Years Ahead is also now on Facebook www.facebook.com/RACVOlderDriverSafety

Introduction to Years Ahead

This video provides a brief overview of the Years Ahead program and the various topics it covers.

Vehicle Safety

This video outlines the importance of driving a safe vehicle. Buying a car involves many choices and decisions; it is one of the largest and most important purchases we make. Whether we buy a new or used car, the range of options is greater than ever before.

Health and Driving

Different health and aging issues may affect your ability to drive. As you get older you might start to notice changes in your health. This video discusses some of those changes and what you can do to stay safe on the roads.

Your Driving Future

RACV encourages drivers of all ages to continue to drive for as long as they are fit to do so. However, the decision of when to stop driving is one all drivers will need to make one day. This video outlines what you should do if you are not as fit as you used to be, and driving is becoming a little more difficult.
