Driving in the United States

family and their car at a lookout

"It is advised that you obtain an International Driving Permit before coming to the United States. Although IDP's are only translation documents and should always be accompanied by a current, valid driver's licence at all times, varied rules and regulations (in regards to these IDP's) are used by police departments all over the United States. 'Better safe than sorry' is our creed in obtaining this IDP before travels; it is not expensive, is usually easily obtained from their home club, and is another piece of security to have in your possession while travelling."
