Road safety

RACV has released the latest AusRAP results. This program looks at crashes that have occurred on our major highways.

To keep you safe on the road, we have information about the Victorian Road Rules. This includes any recent changes to the rules.

We have provided some simple steps so that you can be sure your children will be safe when travelling.

RACV is supportive of the Decade of Action for Road Safety which is a global campaign to reduce the one million deaths and 50 million serious injuries experienced world-wide on roads every year.

We are looking for newly-licensed young drivers to join the P Drivers Project. The project is one of the largest and most complex scientific research studies undertaken in the area of driver education designed to improve the safety of new P plate drivers.


Buying your first car? A list of the safest and most affordable cars for young drivers has been recently released to help guide the purchase of safer first vehicles.

Teachers can book online for our school road safety programs. Our programs integrate traffic safety education into the school’s curriculum and are designed to improve children’s road safety behaviour and attitude.

RACV advocates on behalf of its members on a range of mobility and motoring issues. Our publication 'RACV Directions 2006' outlines what is important to our members and presents our vision for the way forward in the five key areas of mobility, roads, road users, vehicles and the environment.

RACV's New Arrival Road Safety Program aims to support newly arrived migrants to gain experience and training on the road so they can gain a drivers licence and drive safely. Applications are invited from Victorian non-profit community groups that have implemented a road safety program for new migrants.
