At RACV Club & Resorts, we are committed to creating a positive impact on our environment and local communities. Guided by ethical and sustainable practices, our operations reflect a deep belief in creating lasting, positive change.
Our commitment
Care for our future
We care about a cleaner energy future, investing in energy reduction across our properties and implementing a wide range of sustainability initiatives that focus on energy, waste and water.
Cleaner energy
- Energy supplied from renewable sources across sites
- Smart energy controls for heating and cooling
- Light fittings replaced with LEDs
- Rooftop solar panels through RACV Solar
- Efficient pool and exhaust systems using variable speed drives
- RACV City Club developed a mobility hub in the underground car park to encourage staff/guests to ride to work rather than drive to lower our impact on traffic pollution
- Twelve charging stations are located in the car park that supports electric vehicles
Sustainability
- Removing single-use plastic where possible and using compostable cups. RACV City Club uses 'I am not Paper' made from sugarcane
- Replacing single-use bathroom amenities with large format dispensers
- Recycling of glass, cardboard, textiles, e-waste, printer cartridges, oil and green waste
- Providing guests with the option to reduce water wastage by not having their linen changed daily
Care for our community
We are passionate and committed to having a positive social impact in our community. Our resorts and clubs bring a range of benefits to their local communities.
Examples include:
- Investing in solar energy installs for bushfire-prone towns
- Donating to local not-for-profit charity, Peter McCallum Cancer Centre and Eat Up
- Promotion of local businesses through direct sales of local attractions through our RACV Travel & Experiences business
Accessibility
At RACV City Club, we are committed to ensuring that all our guests enjoy a welcoming, comfortable, and accessible experience. We strive to provide inclusive facilities and services that meet the needs of each individual. The Club offers onsite parking, plus accessible walkways, ramps, and lifts in central facilities and select rooms.
RACV City Club has widened corridors, six accessible rooms and lowered counter tops in reception, to accommodate guests with mobility aids or impairments. There is also an accessible entrance into the Club from Bourke Street, as well as accessible carparks located on all levels of our underground parking. There is braille in all lifts and on bathroom signage, and hearing loops are located in both the Shared Workspace on Level 2 and the Conference room on Level 17.
Guests are encouraged to contact the Club directly to book the accessible room and to let us know of any specific requirements that could help make their stay more comfortable and enjoyable. We're here to ensure every guest feels welcome and supported.
