If you want to start using this useful tool to stay in touch with friends and family, a self-paced take home course starting with the basics is just what you need. We all know that Google is an effective Internet search engine but did you know that you can use it for more than just basic web searches? Internet Security

We are all aware of the need to stay safe while we are online; however do we know just how to achieve it? 

Not only do we need to protect our computers from viruses but also ourselves from becoming vulnerable to harassment, identity theft and privacy violations. 

This RACV Club Library online courses introduces you to the types of threats you may encounter online and will help establish basic internet security strategies to help fight against viruses, how to deal with identity theft, the best way to deal with cyberbullying and how to shop safely and protect against online fraud.

Free and easy to use, this video sharing platform is also home to useful information uploaded from reputable sources making it an ideal support tool for recreation, professional development and even business. A great way to learn the basics of YouTube so you can get started on exploring all that is available.

Introduction to Trove

This online course introduces participants to the wonder that is Trove. For those that have not yet discovered this useful site, Trove is a National Library of Australia inititive, a website portal that helps tge user find resources relating to Australia and our history. The content is from museums, libraries, archives and other research organisations. It includes book holdings, maps, diaries, letters, digitised newspapers and photographic images. It is a treasure trove for anybody interested in Australian history and particularly helpful for family history researchers. This course will cover a basic introduction, an overview of the different collections within Trove and the advantages and disadvantages of setting up a free account.
