Terms and Conditions for RACV Club Membership

Operation of the Club is governed by the Constitution and By-Laws of the RACV Club

  • RACV reserves the right to make changes to membership access, entitlements or fees from time to time. RACV Club members will be advised of RACV’s intention to make any such changes through the RACV website racv.com.au and using any other means adopted by RACV (in its absolute discretion). If a member considers that any such change will have a detrimental effect on the services supplied to the member by RACV, then the member may request that RACV cancel their RACV Club membership and RACV agrees to refund the unused portion (pro-rata) of any RACV Club Membership fee to the member.
  • Membership access, entitlements and discounts are for personal use by the RACV Club member only and cannot be transferred, used for commercial purposes or used by anyone else on behalf of the member.
  • Management has the right to request your membership card at anytime on the Club premises.

 

Payment

All Club memberships are a 12 month commitment. Members who joined after 1 March 2020 may elect to pay their annual membership fees (the Fees) in monthly instalments via direct debit, subject to a 12-month commitment. If a member cancels their membership before the end of the 12-month period, the member must pay the outstanding balance of the Fees. See full terms and conditions. Membership add ons (ie. golf, Upgrade) are valid across the 12-month renewal period, notwithstanding the date the add on is purchased.

 

Marketing

You agree that RACV and its related bodies corporate may contact you with marketing and information about their products and services, discounts, special offers, competitions and invitations to special events, for an indefinite period unless and until you opt out of receiving these communications. You agree that any contact details provided by you can be used for these communications, including to contact you by post, phone, email and SMS. If at any time you wish to opt out from receiving these communications, please let RACV know by using the “Opt Out” instructions in the RACV Privacy Charter or any opt out means provided in the communications.

 

Discounts

  • Members must present their Club card at time of purchase to claim any applicable discount.
  • Discounts cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or member rate unless otherwise stated. All discounts are subject to availability and such other terms and conditions as stipulated by RACV from time to time
  • Dining discounts are valid on transactions up to $1,000 only and do not apply to conferences, events or in room dining. For exclusive member groups and events rates, please contact our Conferences and Event Team on conferencesandevents@racv.com.au for City and healesvilleevents@racv.com.au for Healesville.
  • RACV Resort accommodation discount is off the standard, non-member accommodation rate only and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer, discount or promotion. Subject to availability and blackout dates. Discount is not applicable to Healesville Country Club and Resort. The discount is only applicable while the eligible RACV Club member is an in-house guest and cannot be extended to any other in-house guests, whether or not they are staying with the member.
  • The 25% discount off restaurant and bars at RACV Resorts for Access members excludes Healesville Country Club & Resort.
  • Healesville Aperitivo hour - To access this offering, eligible Club Members need to be in the Club Members’ Lounge between 5 and 6pm. This is an exclusive service for Club Members who have booked in-house accommodation under a Club Member rate and it is available for a maximum of two people per room. Bookings are not required.

 

Access Membership

  • RACV Access Club Credit will be provided as an e-gift card or applied to the Club account of an Access member in two instalments of $500 each (the Credit). RACV Club Credit must be redeemed within 6 months of issue, and prior to the member’s individual RACV Club membership renewal date. Credit can only be used by the member named. Credit can be used at RACV City Club and RACV Healesville Country Club & Resort (excluding Club Membership fees, RACV City Club carpark, RACV Box Office and RACV Special Events ie. Christmas Day, New Years Day).
  • Complimentary Associate Membership is subject to the completion of the RACV Club membership application form by an eligible beneficiary, and the approval of that application by the RACV Club & Membership Committee, in accordance with RACV Club By-Laws.

 

Club Credit

  • If purchase exceeds available Credit balance, the member must make up the difference by making an additional payment. Cash will not be given for any unused balance, and any unused balance on expiry of the Credit will not be refunded, credited or transferred to another member.
  • Credit is redeemable for eligible products and services at the RACV City Club and RACV Healesville Country Club only, excluding the carpark, shared working space and box office.
  • Credit is not redeemable for cash and cannot be used to pay for RACV Club Membership fees.

 

Club Giftcards

RACV remains the holder and owner of any rights or obligations attached to the card and the stored value on the card, which is non-transferable, non-saleable and not redeemable for cash. Card can only be used by the member named on the card. Lost or stolen cards will not be replaced or refunded. Transactions exceeding available balance require difference to be paid by another method. See www.racv.com.au/giftcards for giftcard balance. Cards cannot be used for payment of club account or purchase of further gift cards or vouchers.

 

Birthday Reward
Card can be used at restaurants and bars within the RACV Club (excluding Bourke Street Green, Le Petit Gateau and Gallery Lounge) and the entire voucher must be used in one transaction. The card will expire 3 months from date of issue and any unused value will not be refunded or credited. 

 

Rewards Card
For Lifestyle members upon renewing club membership (renewal join date of 1 July 2023 to 1 June 2024) will receive a $100 e-gift card. Card can be used at restaurants and bars within the RACV Club, and accommodation Sunday to Thursday within the RACV Club. The card will expire 12 months from date of issue and any unused value will not be refunded or credited.

 

Club Executive and Access Voucher
Card can be used at Healesville Country Club golf, One Spa at RACV Healesville Country Club or RACV City Club or Club Events (excluding box office and special events ie. Christmas Day and New Years Eve). This card will expire 12 months from date of issue and any unused value will not be refunded or credited.

 

Club Access Rewards
Card can be used at RACV City Club and RACV Healesville Country Club & Resort (excluding Club Membership fees, RACV City Club carpark, RACV Box Office and RACV Special Events ie. Christmas Day, New Years Day). This card will expire 6 months from date of issue and any unused value will not be refunded or credited.

 

Club Treat
Card can be used at RACV City Club and RACV Healesville Country Club & Resort (excluding Club membership fees, RACV City Club carpark, RACV Box Office and RACV Special Events ie. Christmas Day, New Years Day). This card will expire 12 months from date of issue and any unused value will not be refunded or credited.

Upgrade 1, 2 and 3 (Shared Workspace access)

Members must pay the Upgrade Package fee and any other amounts due and owing to the RACV Club before Upgrade Package access and entitlements will be provided. Upgrade entitlements are aligned to a Member's renewal period. Upgrade Package access, entitlements and discounts are for personal use by the RACV Club member only and cannot be transferred, used for commercial purposes or used by anyone else on behalf of the member. An Upgrade package is valid for one twelve month renewal period, irrespective of purchase date.

 

RACV Travel and Experiences Club Membership Offer

  • A new membership application must be received and payment completed (either full annual membership fee or the first of 12 monthly instalments) between 16 to 31 March 2024
  • A $300 Club credit will be issued to the new member following approval by the Club and Membership Committee
  • Club credit will be valid for 6 months from the date of credit to the account to spend in the RACV City Club or Healesville Country Club
  • The credit is not transferrable or redeemable for cash
  • Only eligible for new RACV Club members who have joined from attending the RACV Travel Expo March 16 March 2024 

 

Premium Event Package

  • Members must pay the Premium Event Package fee and any other amounts due and owing to the RACV Club before Package access and entitlements will be provided.
  • Premium Event Package access, entitlements and discounts are for personal use by the RACV Club member only and cannot be transferred, used for commercial purposes, or used by anyone else on behalf of the member. Any breach of this condition may result in cancellation of the Premium Event Package without a refund and the bearer of any ticket may be refused admission. Members may also face sanction under the Club By-laws for conduct unbecoming of a member (including suspension or expulsion from membership under the Club By-laws).
  • Tickets are strictly subject to availability and whilst RACV Club will endeavour to meet all requests, it will not always be possible. Every attempt will be made to find suitable alternatives. Access to particular matches is not guaranteed.
    Maximum of 1x double pass (two tickets total) available for request across all home and away matches at MCG or Marvel Stadium. Total allocation of tickets is 4 double passes (8 tickets in total).
  • RACV Club is not an authorised on-seller of Medallion Club tickets. Accordingly, Medallion Club tickets are only available as a component of the Event Upgrade Package or other advertised Club packages.
  • Early access is at least 48 hours in advance of bookings opening online.
  • Medallion Club tickets available between May and Aug 2023 only.
  • The term of the Premium Event Package expires at 30 Dec 2023.
  • Unused ticket allocations are forfeited at the conclusion of the package period or specific event date for City Club’s AFL Grand Final luncheon event. No refunds or credits are available in respect of unused ticket allocations.
  • “Club Events” are those advertised on the What’s On page of the Club website only. Private events coordinated via the Conference & Events team are not included in this upgrade package.
  • Complimentary tickets and early access to Club Events excludes Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve bookings.
  • All tickets are distributed electronically.

End of Financial Year Offer 2024

A new membership application must be received with a promotion code and payment completed (either full annual membership or the first of 12 monthly instalments between 1 May and 30 June 2024). Only eligible for new RACV Club member applications.

 

For Active, Executive or Access Membership receive a receive $300 e-gift card to spend in the Club (called Club Treat) or for Country or Associate receive $150 e-gift card to spend in the Club (called Club Treat). The gift card will be provided following approval of the application by the Club and Membership Committee.

 

Card can be used at RACV City Club and RACV Healesville Country Club & Resort (excluding Club membership fees, RACV City Club carpark, RACV Box Office and RACV Special Events ie. Christmas Day, New Years Day).

 

The gift card will expire 12 months from date of issue and any unused value will not be refunded or credited.

Fitness and Aquatic Centre Terms and Conditions

You need to sign the RACV Club Fitness Centre Terms and Conditions to use the RACV Club fitness and aquatic facilities (RACV Fitness Centre). Below is the updated declaration.

 

Your usage of the RACV Club fitness and aquatic facilities (RACV Fitness Centre) is subject to the following terms and conditions:

  1. Fitness to participate: I declare that I am medically and physically fit and able to participate in any recreational activity. I will immediately notify RACV in writing of any change to fitness and ability to participate. By signing the RACV Club Fitness Centre declaration you understand and accept that RACV will continue to rely upon this declaration as evidence of nay fitness to participate and ability to participate.
  2. Consent to medical treatment: If required RACV will arrange medical or hospital treatment (including ambulance transportation) for me. I authorise such actions being taken by RACV where my further consent cannot be obtained and agree to meet all costs associated with such action.
  3. Waiver, Release and Indemnity: You acknowledge that there are dangers and risk inherent in activities at the Fitness Centre (including, but not limited to any activity that is performed within the Fitness Centre and any specialised classes, courses and workshops that are conducted within or eternal to the Fitness Centre (the “Activity”) to which you may be exposed by accessing the Fitness Centre.
    You agree that you are participating in the Activity at your own risk and you voluntarily assume responsibility for any injury, death, or property damage you may suffer as a result of your participation in the Activity. To the maximum extent possible at law, you agree to release, hold harmless and indemnify RACV against all actions, claims, suits, costs, expenses, demands and damages suffered or incurred by RACV by reason of or in respect of or in any manner whatsoever arising out of or caused by your use of the Fitness Centre or participation in the Activity.

You agree that you are using the Fitness Centre on the express condition that RACV:

  • will, under no circumstances be liable or responsible in any manner whatsoever for any death, loss, accident, damage or injury to you or any of your visitor or invitee or any other person whatsoever (“Related Party”) which may happen as a result of your use of the Fitness Centre; and
  • will not incur or be under any liability whatsoever to you or to any Related Party for any loss, damage or injury to or in respect of any of your property or of any Related Party’s property, except as occasioned by the gross negligence, acts or omissions of RACV or its servants, agents, contractors, visitors or invitees.

 

RACV is not liable to you in respect of any indirect or consequential loss. For the avoidance of doubt, ‘consequential loss’ means loss or damage arising from a breach of contract, tort (including negligence), under statute or any other basis in law or equity including, but without limitation, loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss or denial of opportunity, loss of goodwill, loss of business reputation, future reputation or publicity, damage to credit rating and indirect, remote, abnormal or unforeseeable loss, or any similar loss whether or not in the reasonable contemplation of the parties.

 

4.    WARNING UNDER THE AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW AND FAIR TRADING ACT 2012

 

If you sign the RACV Club Fitness Centre Terms and Conditions form, you will be agreeing that your rights to sue the supplier under the Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Act 2012 are excluded, restricted or modified in the way set out in this form, if you are killed or injured because the services provided were not in accordance with the statutory guarantees outlined below. 

 

Under the Australian Consumer Law (Victoria), several statutory guarantees apply to the supply of certain goods and services. These guarantees mean that the supplier named on this form is required to ensure that the recreational services it supplies to you – 

  • are rendered with due care and skill; and
  • are reasonably fit for any purpose which you, either expressly or by implication, make known to the supplier; and
  • might reasonably be expected to achieve any result you have made known to the supplier.

Under section 22 of the Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Act 2012, the exclusion of these statutory guarantees is brought to your attention by this form.

 

NOTE: The change to your rights, as set out in this form, does not apply if your death or injury is due to gross negligence on the supplier's part. Gross negligence, in relation to an act or omission, means doing the act or omitting to do an act with reckless disregard, with or without consciousness, for the consequences of the act or omission. See regulation 5 of the Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Regulations 2012 and section 22(3)(b) of the Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Act 2012.
