Apposite Ground: Kate Ballis, Janet Laurence, Catherine Nelson

8 August – 9 November 2025 | RACV City Club Galley Lounge

This exhibition brings together the evocative works of Janet Laurence, Catherine Nelson, and Kate Ballis, three artists who capture the ground beneath our feet, exploring the ongoing relevance between human interaction and the natural world.

Janet Laurence's transformative installations invite viewers to contemplate the fragility and resilience of our environment, while Catherine Nelson's intricate digital landscapes transport us to fantastical realms where nature's beauty is both preserved and reimagined. Kate Ballis' vibrant, infrared photography reveals unseen dimensions of familiar landscapes, challenging our perceptions and inviting us to see the world anew.

As part of the Ballarat International Foto Biennale, RACV is hosting diverse photography exhibitions across all exhibition spaces from the Gallery Lounge in the City Club, to RACV Goldfields and RACV Inverloch. Explore our website to find out more.
