Where Memory Transforms
14 November 2025 to 22 February 2026 | RACV City Club Galley Lounge
Where Memory Transforms features artists Kate Beynon, Melissa Nguyen, Lindy Lee, Guan Wei, and John Young, who draw on their experiences as Australians with heritage from Hong Kong, Vietnam or China. They examine the fluid relationship between memory, identity, and belonging. Across painting, watercolour, and installation, each artist navigates the intersections of personal and collective histories, tracing cultural inheritances and moments of transformation.
These artists explore the complexities of migration, hybridity, or cultural continuity, highlighting that memory is not a fixed archive but a living, shifting presence. Through acts of layering, erasure, and reinterpretation, they reveal memory as an active force that reshapes our understanding of self and place, and invite us to consider how the past continues to evolve with the present.
