The Arts and Crafts Movement began in Britain and flourished from 1880 to 1920. It looked back into the past, celebrating traditional craftsmanship using simple forms, and often-used medieval, romantic, or folk styles of decoration. The movement was inspired by figures like architect Augustus Pugin, writer John Ruskin, and designer, William Morris.
