Travel Writing Workshop
With Lorna Hendry
Date: Tuesday 17 October
Venue: City Club, Club Room
Time: 11am to 1pm
Cost: $15 per person
The desire to create and then share writings about travel is common among travellers, both frequent and intermittent.
Join Lorna Hendry, author of Wrong Way Round, and freelance writer and editor teaching at RMIT’s Professional Writing and Editing program, in this interactive workshop that looks at techniques for writing about your travel experiences.
Through discussion, short readings and simple writing exercises, Lorna will discuss how to engage readers by using evocative details, perfectly framed stories, powerful opening scenes and interesting characters to give your travel stories energy and life. We will also explore some of the ethical issues of travel writing.
Bookings essential by Thursday 12 October.
