As our way of saying thank you, we’d like to gift you an RACV Emergency Home Assist* plan for the next 6 months.

Emergency Home Assist provides you with access to qualified plumbers, electricians, and locksmiths for common home emergencies when things go wrong unexpectedly.

How it works

  • Check your letter

    Your plan start date is shown on your letter. 

  • If you have an emergency, call 13 46 63 anytime

    We'll send a qualified tradie to you, usually within the hour. Your plan includes emergency callouts, 24/7, for 6 months.

  • They'll get to work

    Many emergencies can be fixed on the spot. If yours can’t, the tradie will provide a temporary fix to make the area safe and if required, will organise a no-obligation quote with RACV Trades.

  • Renew after 6 months

    At the end of the 6 months, we’ll send you a renewal notice. You can choose to renew your plan for a further 12 months.

Emergencies included in your plan

Emergency Home Assist provides access to plumbers, electricians, and locksmiths in a home emergency. Here are some common jobs we can help with.

Blocked toilet, pipe or drain

Causing overflow or backup, stopping water flowing through the outlet.

Internal leaks

Water leaking down walls or through your ceiling due to blocked downpipes, gutters or damaged roof.

Broken tap or shower

Causing damage to your home or property, or substantial water wastage (excludes dripping taps and shower heads).

Broken heating or cooling system

Due to faulty components, gas issues, or if you're unable to reignite the pilot light.

Burst pipe

Causing significant water wastage or water damage to your property.

Gas leak

If a gas pipe has been damaged and is leaking, we'll repair the leak or isolate the gas line to make it safe.

Faulty or burst hot water system

Due to a gas issue, faulty components, or if you're unable to reignite the pilot light.

Power or lighting fault

Due to electrical faults (excludes area-wide power outages and blackouts).

Broken air-conditioning system

We'll assess the cause of the fault and repair if possible.

Faulty hot water system

Due to faulty components or electrical issues.

Internal leaks in light fittings or fixtures

We will isolate power from the affected area.

Locked out of the house

We will get you safely back inside.

Broken or jammed doors or windows

If your home security is threatened, we'll make it safe.

Broken glass impacting safety and security

We will make the area safe and clean up (excludes glass replacement).

Frequently asked questions

Your 6 months of Emergency Home Assist is a gift, so you won’t be charged.

At the end of the 6 months, we’ll send you a renewal notice. You can choose to renew your plan with us for a further 12 months.

Alternatively, your RACV Emergency Home Assist plan will automatically end on the expiry date.

Yes you can. If you have a home emergency, call 1300 425 549 and we’ll send a tradie to help.

Yes, log into your RACV online account to change the address listed on your Emergency Home Assist plan.

If you have any issues, call 1300 425 549.

Yes, this includes:

  • unlimited^ emergency callouts
  • 24/7 assistance, with help usually arriving within the hour
  • no after-hours, weekend or public holiday surcharge
  • 12-month warranty on labour and services.

We’ve automatically gifted you Emergency Home Assist, however there’s no obligation to use the plan during a home emergency.

Your Emergency Home Assist will be due for renewal automatically after 6 months. If you’d like to continue your plan for another 12 months, you can pay to renew.

*The offer consists of six months gifted RACV Emergency Home Assist plan on the primary address associated to your RACV Home Insurance policy. At the end of the gifted period, you will receive a renewal notice for your RACV Emergency Home Assist plan, where you can choose to renew on a 12-month plan. If you do nothing, your gifted Emergency Home Assist plan will automatically lapse after the offer period. Offer is not valid for Single Emergency Callouts.
