RACV Connect Membership terms and conditions

RACV Connect Membership (also referred to as the ‘Program’ in these terms and conditions) entitles you to various rights and benefits (such as deals and discounts). The Program benefits, offers and participating partners will vary from time to time and are subject to change at the discretion of RACV. Each benefit and offer is subject to separate terms and conditions, and you may also be subject to the participating partners' terms and conditions of sale or service.

The Program excludes Emergency Roadside Assistance, Extended Benefits and related services. If you have an RACV Connect Membership only, and you break down and require Roadside Assistance, you will be required to pay an On-Road Join and Go fee to upgrade to RACV Roadside Care, RACV Extra Care or RACV Total Care (additional conditions apply for RACV Extra Care or RACV Total Care). Refer to the Emergency Roadside Assistance terms and conditions, available at racv.com.au, for further information. The Program also excludes Emergency Home Assist.

You agree that RACV and its related bodies corporate may contact you with marketing and information about their products and services, discounts, special offers, competitions and invitations to special events, for an indefinite period unless and until you opt out of receiving these communications. You agree that any contact details provided by you can be used for these communications, including to contact you by post, phone, email and SMS. If at any time you wish to opt out from receiving these communications, please let RACV know by using the “Opt Out” instructions in the RACV Privacy Charter (available at www.racv.com.au) or any opt out means provided in the communications.

We collect and handle personal information about when you sign up for and interact with the Program, and when you redeem Program benefits. For some benefits, we may need to share your personal information with a participating partner so that you may redeem the benefit they have offered. We will also use and disclose your personal information for purposes set out in the RACV Privacy Charter, available at www.racv.com.au, and any privacy collection notice made available to you when you engage with the Program. Our Privacy Charter includes details about how you can contact RACV. It also explains how you can get access to and update your personal information, and how to lodge a complaint if you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your personal information.

We and our participating partners have agreed to provide you with benefits that may include discounts, upgrades or other offers. Only individuals who are natural persons are eligible for an RACV Connect Membership. Participation is not open to companies.

To become a Program member, you must sign up using a form approved by RACV. To start taking advantage of the Program, we’ll send you a membership number, which we may do by sending to you a physical card or by making a digital card available to you. You’ll need your membership number to redeem any benefits under the Program.

To access Program benefits you may need a smartphone, as some benefits can only be redeemed using the RACV App (which is iOS and Android compatible). You are responsible for the use of your membership card, member number, vouchers or codes provided as part of the Program in accordance with any instructions we give you, and these terms and conditions.

The benefits available under the Program are listed on our website and in advertising issued by us or by our participating partners from time to time. We take reasonable care to ensure that information we publish in relation to the Program is accurate but do not accept any liability relating to information provided by third parties. All descriptions of benefits we publish are based on information supplied by participating partners.

All benefits are subject to availability and other terms and conditions which may be imposed by participating partners. The benefit terms and conditions may be communicated by us on behalf of the participating partner, or by the participating partner. Unless otherwise stated, no benefit may be used in conjunction with any other offer.

The benefits are available to you only and cannot be sold, transferred, assigned or otherwise dealt with, except with the consent of RACV and the relevant participating partner.

To claim a benefit, you must communicate to the participating partner that you are a member and that you wish to obtain a benefit under your RACV Connect Membership. You can do this, for example, by presenting your membership card to the participating partner, or by entering your membership number when prompted to do so when completing a transaction online or in an app.

RACV and our participating partners will not exchange or refund Program benefits for anything else, including for cash or gift cards.

Where we have arranged for a participating partner to offer benefits to you, the participating partner is not an agent of RACV and has no authority, express or implied, to bind RACV or to make any representations, warranties or statements on our behalf.

We are not a party to any transactions entered into between you and a participating partner, and are not responsible for any such transactions, but we reserve the right to monitor redemption activities, complaints and disputes. We are not liable in any way for:

• any use of your RACV Connect Membership card or number by another person
• any failure by you to notify a participating partner that you are seeking a benefit under the Program when purchasing goods or services
• a participating partner not offering or making a benefit available for any reason
• a failure by a program partner to comply with the terms of any transaction entered into with you
• the suspension and/or termination of the Program. 

You must not:

• abuse or misuse the Program, nor any benefits, facilities, services or arrangements accorded to you as a result of the Program
• act in any way which is likely to be detrimental to the interests of RACV, the participating partners or the Program
• supply or attempt to supply any false or misleading information, or make any misrepresentation to us and/or any of our participating partners
• sell, assign, transfer or acquire, or offer to sell, assign, transfer or acquire any Program benefit
• act in any way which, in our reasonable opinion, breaches or is likely to breach these terms and conditions or is inconsistent with the intent of these terms and conditions. 

Unless we otherwise agree, if participation in the Program was offered to you for a defined period, you will no longer be able to use your membership card and/or membership number to redeem Program benefits once that period has expired. If you purchase an RACV Membership qualifying product before the end of the defined period, the period during which you were an RACV Connect Member will count toward your RACV ‘years of membership’.

We may suspend or terminate your participation in the Program and your use of the member card or membership number without notice and for any reason, including if you:

• do not comply with these terms and conditions
• do not comply with the conditions of any product or service offered by a participating partner or for the Program
• notify us that you no longer wish to be a member of the Program. In such circumstances, we may cancel and/or refuse to honour any Program benefits that have been redeemed by or provided to you.

Subject to applicable laws, we will not be liable to you or any third party for any loss or damage whatsoever suffered by any person as a result of any such suspension, termination or cancellation.

From time to time, we may make changes to these terms and conditions, including in response to changes to the law. We will give you prior notice if the change materially affects your rights and obligations under these terms and conditions and may communicate those changes to you using the contact details you provided to us when you signed up. Please ensure that you review these terms and conditions regularly as you will be deemed to have accepted a variation if you continue to use your RACV Connect Membership after the variation has been posted.
