Nikita King, RACV Healesville Country Club’s wedding sales and events coordinator

Nikita King, RACV Healesville Country Club’s wedding sales and events coordinator, is in the business of overseeing dreams.

I have a passion for the wedding industry and events. I love working with couples to create their vision, it’s just such a happy workplace. The couples we work with are always so excited to plan their day and I’m heavily involved with that and we create the journey for them to their dream day.

I look after all the weddings at Healesville Country Club, basically, including the sales aspect. During the week I do a lot of admin, planning the weddings ahead and meeting our clients, whether that’s the wedding we have on the weekend or couples who have booked a year in advance.

There is a lot of hard work but my favourite moment is seeing the bride and groom on the day and everything has come together.

It’s sometimes long hours and not always glamorous, you can’t always leave at a certain time. If the bride needs you, you stay, it’s part of my job.

I have worked in the Yarra Valley for many years. We have lovely accommodation on site at the Healesville Country Club and it’s the perfect set-up for a wedding.

Planning a wedding can be stressful. My number one piece of advice would be to personalise your wedding. Trends come and go, but you want something you both love in everyday life to feature on your biggest day. You want the guests to think, yes, this represents the couple.

I love going to see the bride in the morning in her room when they’ve stayed the night before. Their big day has finally come and I can walk her to the ceremony. It’s so rewarding to see her all dressed in a gown and watching everyone’s face as she walks down the aisle to her soon-to-be husband.
