New car sales in Australia have come off their record pace but remained strong in the first half of 2025. Toyota is still king, and Ford Ranger the top seller, but BYD is making inroads.
2026 Ford Everest Sport Bi-Turbo Limited Edition: price, specs and release date in Australia

Ford Australia has announced the arrival of a limited-edition Ford Everest Sport Bi-Turbo family SUV, priced at $75,000 driveaway.
Until now, the well-specified Ford Everest Sport AWD grade has been powered exclusively by Ford's 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged diesel engine, but just 700 examples of the seven-seat large SUV will be available as a limited-edition special with the brand's more efficient, but less powerful, 154kW 2.0-litre twin-turbo four-cylinder diesel.
To add extra interest to the 2026 Ford Everest Sport Bi-Turbo, the limited edition will also be equipped with the Ford Touring Pack as standard and offered with prestige paint at no extra cost.
With the Ford Everest continuing to show up as a top-six best-selling passenger vehicle in Australia, will the extra value of the special edition give a boost to sales before the all-important end-of-year car sales numbers for 2025 are revealed? Let's dive into the details.

How much does the Ford Everest Sport Bi-Turbo cost in Australia?
The Ford Everest Sport Bi-Turbo is available for $75,000 driveaway from participating dealers.
Offering a level of specification to appeal to private and user-chooser fleet buyers, the limited-edition Sport variant includes design highlights such as black exterior styling and gloss black grille, skid plates and 20-inch alloy wheels. A choice of five paint colours can be made including Blue Lightning (Sport-exclusive), Alabaster White (pearlescent, replacing Arctic White), Shadow Black, Meteor Grey and Aluminium.
Adding extra value over the regular Everest Sport, which is currently on sale for over $82,000 driveaway, the $75K Everest Sport Bi-Turbo is also equipped with Ford's Touring Pack that includes a 360-degree camera, tow bar and hitch, integrated trailer brake controller and Pro Trailer Backup Assist – an additional $2900 on the V6 Sport.
While the Everest Sport Bi-Turbo comes 'towing-ready', it will not offer the same 3500kg braked towing capacity as the 3.0-litre V6-powered Everest, instead seeing its braked capacity reduced to 3100kg.
All Ford Everest models carry the same five-year/unlimited-kilometre factory warranty. Service intervals are every 12 months or 15,000km, whichever comes first, and if you choose to service with Ford Australia, the first five years of servicing (or 75,000km, whichever comes first) can be prepurchased for $1596.

Ford Everest Sport Bi-Turbo design and specification
The Ford Everest Sport measures 4914mm long, 1923mm wide and 1837mm high, with a 2900mm wheelbase and 226mm ground clearance. Like the rest of the Ford Everest range, the Sport has a low-speed wading depth of up to 800mm.
It's a genuine seven-seat SUV with leather-accented, heated and ventilated front seats, with 10-way power adjustment for the driver (with memory settings) and eight-way for the front passenger.
The cabin is equipped with plenty of family-friendly tech and comfort features including dual-zone climate control, ambient interior lighting, wireless phone charging, multiple USB and 12V outlets, and a premium 12-inch SYNC 4A infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Safety is comprehensive, supported by a five-star ANCAP rating (2022) and including nine airbags and advanced driver assistance systems including adaptive cruise control with lane centring, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, and autonomous emergency braking with intersection assist.
The Everest Sport also features a 360-degree camera system, electronic park brake with auto hold, and smart keyless entry with push-button start. Thanks to its connectivity solutions, drivers can also access key data points including tyre pressures via the Ford mobile phone app.
What powers the Ford Everest Sport Bi-Turbo?
The 2025 Ford Everest Sport Bi-Turbo is powered by a 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission with permanent four-wheel drive. It's the same powertrain used in both the Everest Ambiente AWD and Everest Trend AWD variants as well as the Ford Everest Sport RWD.
The engine produces 154kW of power and 500Nm of torque, compared to the V6 turbo-diesel which generates 184kW and 600Nm.
The official fuel consumption for the Everest Sport Bi-Turbo is not yet published but it achieves between 7.1-7.2L/100km on the combined (urban/extra-urban) cycle, based on government-required (ADR 81/02) laboratory testing.
With a large 80-litre fuel tank, the Ford Everest Sport Bi-Turbo could theoretically achieve a driving range over 900km on a single fill.
