RACV Noosa Resort has been crowned one of Queensland’s best tourism operators, winning the Self-Contained Accommodation Award at the Queensland Tourism Industry Council 2026 Queensland Tourism Awards on Friday night.

The award celebrates RACV Noosa Resort’s excellence in delivering a style of holiday which combines the space, amenities and convenience of home with the facilities and service of a five-star resort.

Its spacious apartments and multi-storey villas feature complete kitchens and laundry facilities, while guests also have access to the resort’s luxury pools, dining, spa and other facilities.

RACV Noosa Resort Manager Darren McClenaghan said the award reflected growing demand for holidays that combine the comforts of home with a full resort experience.

“Our villas and apartments are extremely popular – they're essentially a home away from home, giving guests the space to settle in and the choice to self-cater or enjoy the resort’s dining and facilities,” Mr McClenaghan said.

“We’ve seen the average length of stay steadily increase over the past few years, reaching just under five days this financial year.

“For families and longer-stay guests in particular, that flexibility makes it easier to holiday in a way that works for them.

“We’ve had a huge year, from investing in our accommodation and facilities to strengthening our sustainability initiatives and supporting the local community. This recognition belongs to our entire team.”

RACV Executive General Manager Leisure Craig Peachey congratulated the resort team on the achievement.

“The way people holiday continues to evolve, and this award is fantastic recognition of the Noosa team’s commitment to delivering the flexibility, choice and experience our guests are looking for,” Mr Peachey said.

The Queensland Tourism Awards recognise outstanding achievements across the state’s tourism industry and celebrate tourism businesses delivering high-quality visitor experiences.

The award caps a significant year for RACV Noosa Resort, which became one of the first two hotels in Australia to achieve Advanced Sustainable Tourism Certification through Ecotourism Australia. All 10 RACV Club and Resort properties have now achieved Sustainable Tourism Certification.

In July, RACV Noosa Resort completed a major expansion of its solar network, taking it to 2,107 panels and approximately 940 kilowatts of generation capacity, one of the largest known hotel or resort solar installations on the Sunshine Coast.
