RACV has introduced a grants program that will see five Victorian-based visual artists receive $10,000 each to support their work after a period of uncertainty and upheaval for the arts industry due to COVID-19.

Applications for the grants are open now at events.racv.com.au with five one-off payments going towards creating new projects and assisting visual artists to showcase their new works.

RACV Head of Visual Arts, Mardi Nowak, said RACV was proud to do its part to help the arts community rebound.

“The arts community have played a huge role in the fabric of Melbourne and our support of the arts sector in such difficult times is important to RACV as we come out of lock down,” Ms Nowak said.

“We know that many artists in Victoria have experienced a loss of work or reduced hours since the beginning of the pandemic. It means a lot to RACV to be able to support the sector and enable new and exciting works.

“RACV is calling on Victorian artists to come forward and apply for a grant.

“We’ll also be able to share their work with RACV members through our content channels and at RACV Clubs and Resorts.

“It’s always exciting to support the Victorian arts scene. RACV has a long history in collaborating with artists and we are looking forward to seeing the work that could be inspired by these new opportunities we’re able to provide.”

Victorian-based visual artists that have been adversely impacted by COVID-19 can apply for the RACV arts grants by applying online at events.racv.com.au providing details of previous and ongoing work and elaborating on how the $10,000 would assist future endeavours.

Applications for the grant will close Friday 26 November, 2021 and RACV will announce recipients on 2 December, 2021.
