Frequently asked questions

Are there any fees and charges to use the RACV Home Trades & Services platform?

Getting a quote or multiple quotes through RACV Home Trades & Services is completely free of charge, and obligation-free too*. Take the time you need to select the right tradesperson or service provider for your job.

Once you are comfortable with their quote, only then will you arrange a suitable date and time for the work to be done and you will do this directly with your selected tradesperson or service provider.

*Some tradespeople and service providers on the RACV platform may charge for quotes or call-out fees. Please refer to each tradesperson's individual profile for information on their standard fees. 

How does RACV Home Trades & Services verify the trades and service providers in its network?

Tradespeople and service providers submit their details so their identity can be verified and qualifications reviewed. They must also submit the relevant insurances and licences held, where applicable, and all insurances and licences within the network are reviewed every year.

The tradespeople and service providers who are a part of the RACV Home Trades & Services network are obliged to keep these documents up-to-date in order to continue receiving work through our platform.  

Can RACV book a tradesperson or a service provider on my behalf?

Plumbing, electrical and locksmith jobs

Yes. The RACV Home Trades & Services Support Team on 1300 481 462 will be able to take the details of your job down over the phone and assist with getting a qualified RACV trade to provide a quote to get the job done.

For any other trades or services

No. The RACV Home Trades & Services Support Team will help you navigate the online platform and answer your questions, but they’re unable to get quotes and accept jobs on your behalf – you’ll need to manage this process yourself.

However, please don’t hesitate to call our RACV Home Trades & Services Support Team at 1300 481 462 if you’re having trouble navigating the online platform – we’ll be more than happy to help you at any time.

How does payment occur for a job that has been done?

Our tradespeople and service providers are independent business operators and accept a range of payment options. Many of our tradespeople and service providers also accept cash payments however, to ensure the job is completed on the platform with all job details captured within your job dashboard, either the tradesperson or service provider or you as the customer will need to mark the job as complete on the platform and provide details of the payment. At this point it is also very important to leave a review of the tradesperson or service provider. 

I'm an accredited tradesperson or service provider, can I add my business to the RACV Home Trades & Services platform?

Due to the increasing volume of job requests being logged through RACV Home Trades & Services, we may look to expand our network of trusted tradies and suppliers in the near future. If you're appropriately licensed, insured and are reputable in your field, please register your interest in joining the platform.

Please note this an expression of interest only. This does not guarantee your inclusion in the RACV trade network. If you are selected to join, you'll be contacted and further steps will be required in order to ensure you meet the eligibility requirements before joining.
