Melissa Braden’s parents were delighted when she presented them vouchers for a day out at the movies.

She used her silver membership card to purchase Gold Class tickets, and with the savings bought them a meal voucher to make the experience a memorable one.

She says her dad, Bob, is delighted and has been looking out for the right movie.

“They’re delighted to be doing something they wouldn’t normally consider a good use of their dollars,” she says.

It’s not the first time Melissa has made use of savings for the family; she also booked a trip to Tasmania through RACV.

“I went into the store and booked it all for us, including the hire car through Thrifty.”

They made good use of the hire car to see the sights, Melissa says. “It was lovely. Tasmania is only an hour away, so it was a little trip for my mum and my sister.”

Melissa’s son is a free2go member, which is free for 18 year olds and Year 12 students and half-price for 19- and 20-year-olds.

She says she’s happy keeping the RACV tradition in the family.

Melissa has been to two pop-up bar events, put on by the National Trust of Australia (Vic) at Polly Woodside and the Old Melbourne Gaol. She wasn’t aware that members saved 10% on tickets, but will now keep an eye out for savings on tickets and events.
