With a unique mix of citrus and sweet notes, the Southside Fizz Cocktail is perfect for warmer temperatures.

Whether you’re hosting a festive season soiree, a casual summer BBQ, or simply relaxing at home on a sunny day, a refreshing cocktail is often the perfect accompaniment.

And when it comes to the perfect summer cocktail, it doesn’t get much better than the Southside Fizz, which features a tasty mix of blood orange gin by acclaimed Victorian distillery Nosferatu, lemon juice, simple syrup and soda water.

This colourful cocktail reportedly originated from the South Side district of Chicago and was said to be the preferred drink of notorious gangster Al Capone, who attained infamy in the city during Prohibition.

Our friends at Bourke Street Green have shared their easy recipe for the Southside Fizz below, so grab the key ingredients and follow along to make the perfect example.

Plus, don’t forget to try a Southside Fizz at one of Melbourne’s must-visit bars when you’re next in town.
