Best runs in Victoria according to an Olympic marathon runner
Six of Steve Moneghetti’s favourite runs, plus his top running tips for beginners.
The idea of a fun run might seem like an oxymoron to some people. But anyone who’s ever run, walked or crawled their way over the finish line of a fitness challenge can tell you the atmosphere is electric.
Melbourne Marathon, one of the city’s longest-standing and most-loved fitness festivals is jogging into town on 13 October and, whether you’re a keen runner, casual jogger or just in it for the chance to do a personal victory lap of the MCG’s hallowed turf, there’s an event – and a distance – to suit every fitness level.
With all proceeds going to charity, there’s no better excuse to dust off the running gear and give your lung capacity a workout.
We caught up with long-distance running champion Steve Moneghetti ahead of the October runfest to find out his favourite running routes in Victoria, plus his top tips for beginner running enthusiasts.
