K’gari (Fraser Island) is World Heritage-listed as the largest sand island in the world, but it's not just one big dune. It's covered in forest plus crystal-clear creeks and lakes, all connected by 4WD tracks, and the ocean beach is a haven for fishing. The villages of Montville, Maleny and Mapleton populate the Blackall Ranges in the Sunshine Coast hinterland and are full of cafes, galleries, and antique and gift shops. They're linked by winding roads that take you to waterfalls, rainforest walking tracks and scenic reserves. The best view of all is south to the incredible Glass House Mountains.

Australia Zoo hosts a vast array of local fauna as well as animals, reptiles and birds from around the world, from a Galapagos land tortoise and Bengal tigers to a zebra and a red panda.
