On the ground support for RACV Members affected by bushfires

RACV External Communications

January 13, 2026

A Mobile Claims Centre has been deployed to Seymour to provide on-ground support to RACV Members affected by the Victorian bushfires.

The centre is operating at Seymour Sports and Aquatic Centre in Pollard Street, Seymour, providing immediate assistance, including claims support.

RACV General Manager Insurance and Roadside Bill Bloodworth said the priority is supporting affected Members during this difficult time.

“Members in affected areas have been proactively contacted and the Major Event Response Teams are conducting property assessments and arranging emergency repairs to help people get back on their feet as quickly as possible," Mr Bloodworth said.

Mr Bloodworth encouraged anyone needing assistance to visit the Mobile Claims Centre.

"Experts are here to help with claims assistance and support and will be open from 9:00am to 4:00pm until further notice” Mr Bloodworth said.

"Don't be concerned if insurance documents are not readily available – you can lodge a claim with just your RACV membership details."

Help is available to support you lodging a claim for property or vehicle damage:

  1. When safe to do so, gather details of the damage to your home or vehicle, including photos and any reports.
  2. Check your policy documents to see what you're covered for, then lodge your claim online 24/7 at www.racv.com.au, call 13 19 03 or visit the Mobile Claims Centre in Seymour for assistance. It should take less than 20 minutes to lodge your claim.
  3. Your claim will be assessed by the team. They'll be in touch as soon as possible to talk through what happens next.

If your home isn't in a safe and liveable condition, you may be able to access temporary repairs or accommodation for you, your household and pets, for up to 12 months.

Motor insurance assessors are ready to help and are working to process claims as quickly as possible.

The most important thing is your safety – follow the direction of local authorities and if you need help, call 000 or the VicEmergency hotline on 1800 226 226.
