No out of hours surcharges
There are no additional charges for emergencies after hours, on weekends or public holidays.

Electrical emergencies RACV can assist with

Maybe your cooling or heating system has stopped working, or there's a blackout that's isolated to your home? Whatever your electrical emergency, RACV Emergency Home Assist will send a fully accredited, local emergency electrician near you to your door quickly.

We're committed to fixing your electrical home emergency. Our service includes up to one hour of labour plus minor parts and materials. If we can’t fix your electrical issue on the spot (for example, if a light fitting replacement is required), we’ll carry out temporary repairs to secure your home and provide an obligation-free quote to complete the work.

Power or lighting fault
Loss of power to all or part of of your home including electrical faults due to storms or flooding (excludes area-wide power outages and blackouts).

Broken air-conditioning system
If your air-conditioner has stopped working, an RACV electrician will assess the cause of the fault and repair if safe to do so (a refrigeration mechanic specialist referral may be required).

Faulty or burst hot water system
When your hot water system fails because of faulty components or electrical issues.

Internal leaks
If you have a ceiling leak coming through a light fitting or fixture we'll isolate power from the affected area.

Don’t have a current home emergency but want year round emergency coverage for $215 per year?

When you take out an Emergency Home Assist subscription, you’ll be covered for up to 8 home emergency jobs per year. Help is usually out within the hour and there’s no out-of-hours surcharges.
