RACV Wine Club benefits

Enjoy your RACV Club membership at home with Club wine delivered to your doorstep.

It’s dinner time and you’ve followed RACV Club Executive Chef Jason Camillo’s recipe for slow-cooked lamb shanks. Now all you need is a glass of wine to go with it. But what’s the best match?

City Club Sommelier Christian Maier recommends a RACV Club Shiraz 2017 from Goulburn Valley, which you can enjoy in your own home through our new online Wine Club.

“What we are doing is giving Club Members access to the Club wines in the comfort of their own home. These are the wines that everyone loves. They’re great value for money and taste great,” Christian says.

Christian has curated a range of high-quality Club wines (whites, reds and mixed), which Club Members can purchase in 12-bottle cases at exclusive prices and get free delivery.

Christian prides himself on tracking down good-quality wines to bear the Club brand but says it can be a lengthy process.

“It’s easy to get a wine that tastes nice at a high-price point, but to find good wine that’s value for money is more challenging,” he says. “It’s a very long tasting process and we screen many contestants until we get to what we think is the best value for money.”

The wine will be supplied and distributed through the Tahbilk Group, which has a long-standing relationship with the Club.

“We have done many great things and events with the Tahbilk Group over the years,” says Christian. “They are a like-minded business with strong Victorian values.”

The Tahbilk Group is comprised of eight brands, including the historic Tahbilk Winery, which is on the banks of the Goulburn River, Four Sisters and Macpherson Wines.

Down the track, Christian will draw upon his extensive knowledge to curate six-packs of wines that are exceptional in some way or that are well suited to special occasions such as Christmas.

“Many of these wines will be produced in a sustainable way, maybe organic, and come from smaller boutique wineries,” he says. “I want there to be that specificity of where the wines have come from. It is a big ticket in my book, as a sommelier, to have wines that are not only made with integrity, but you have a sense of where they came from.”

Christian says the Wine Club is exclusive to RACV Club Members.

“RACV Wine Club wines have proven to be a fantastic product that everyone enjoys,” he says.
