Emergency Goods Assist

The RACV Emergency Goods Assist (EGA) service was set up at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, to provide nutritious meals to vulnerable communities in need.

Our people, our kitchens and our patrols made this possible. In just 12 months, we distributed over 130,000 meals, and reached more than 30 communities in metro and regional Victoria.

  • Safety

We focus on safety in the home and on the road.

    Our safety programs include:

    • RACV Safety Squad education programs tailored for Victorian primary school students to support passenger safety, pedestrian safety, bike safety and identifying hazards in the home.
    • RACV Online Safe Driver Training, ensuring participants have access to RACV’s high quality driver training program created by RACV’s own motoring and road safety experts.
    • RACV and Neighbourhood Watch "How Safe is My Place" tool to help determine how safe your home is from burglary and what you can do to improve overall security.
  • In the regions

Programs and funding to help regional communities.

    Our regional programs include:

    • A mental health service in Geelong, South West Victoria, with partner Orygen, which supports young people with mental ill-health with education and employment pathways.
    • Live4Life partnership in regional Victoria to support programs to reduce youth suicide.
    • $1 million Solar in the Regions investment program, established to improve safety for regional towns by adapting community buildings and installing solar and battery storage to make them more resilient in extreme weather events.
    • GIVIT partnership to provide urgently needed items and services to people and communities.

We support our people with opportunities to donate, volunteer, and get involved in community events. Our people support community events such as the Midsumma Festival, ANZAC Day and regional activities.

Supporting Midsumma

“As a queer person, I was really excited to find out RACV takes part in Melbourne's Pride March. I was so excited to go to my first Pride event, but to be in the actual march itself was even better. It was really nice to not only have my friends with me, but to know that RACV supporting the community means showing up and actively participating – not just saying it.”

– Tess Wilson, RACV Member Services Consultant.
