Rapid response times

Home emergencies are responded to quickly within metropolitan Melbourne and most regional areas in Victoria, with no out of hours surcharges.

Our commitment to fix

We'll fix the problem on the spot. But on those rare occasions when we can't, we'll carry out temporary repairs to ensure your home is safe and secure, and provide an obligation-free quote. 

Emergencies we can assist with

Internal leaks

A damaged roof, blocked gutter or downpipe causing an internal leak through the ceiling or walls.

Broken heating/cooling system

Broken or faulty system as the result of gas or electrical problems, faulty components, or inability to reignite pilot light (specialist referral may be required).

Blocked toilet, pipe or drain

A blocked toilet, pipe or drain prevents water flow, causing overflow.

Lighting or power fault

Supply of power to all or part of the house has been disrupted (excludes area-wide blackouts and power outages).

Broken tap or shower

Inability to control water flow as the result of a broken tap or shower, causing significant water wastage, home or property damage (does not include dripping taps).

Lock out or broken door or window

Locked out of the house or where home safety or security is threatened as a result of damaged locks or jammed external doors and windows.

Burst pipe

A burst pipe or joint, resulting in significant water wastage, home or property damage.

Broken glass

Where home safety or security is threatened as a result of damage to broken glass in an external door or window we will make safe (excludes glass repair and glass replacement).

Faulty or burst hot water system

Burst or faulty hot water system as the result of gas or electrical supply fault, faulty components, or the inability to reignite the pilot light.

Gas leak

Internal or external gas leaks as a result of a damaged leaking gas pipe.

What is RACV Emergency Home Assist?

Are there any waiting periods?

There is a 72 hour waiting period after purchasing an annual subscription before emergency call outs can be made. If you need help now or don't have an annual subscription, we have a single call out option available for $269. Just call RACV on 13 46 63.

I've moved houses, can I still use my subscription?

When you move house, your RACV Emergency Home Assist subcription can move with you. Just give us a call on 13 46 63 when you move and we'll make sure your details are updated. 

I have an annual subscription already and have an emergency! How do I get help?

Simply call 13 46 63 and we'll get someone to your door to fix the problem.
