For a truly spectacular Mother’s Day, treat mum to a hot air balloon ride over the city or Yarra Valley.

Rippon Lea Estate

Instead of buying a quick box of chocolates or a novelty gift, why not treat mum to a day out at Rippon Lea House and Garden?

Wander around the beautiful 5.5-hectare garden, explore the southern hemisphere’s largest fernery or take in the sweeping fruit orchard. Allow plenty of time to marvel at the mansion, built in 1868, before finishing up with a game of croquet.

RACV members receive 10 per cent off general admission.

Barnum the Circus Musical

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for a show. Did your mother sing The Greatest Showman soundtrack for months after watching the movie? It’s time to dive back into that world with Barnum the Circus Musical, a magical mix of traditional musical theatre with real-life circus skills.

The story follows the life of Phileas Taylor Barnum, creator of the first circus and played by Todd McKenny, with appearances from Jumbo, the largest elephant in the world, the oldest woman to ever live, and the most beautiful operatic voice ever to appear on stage, the Swedish Nightingale Jenny Lind.

Members can choose between a 10 per cent discount on full-price tickets, or free admission to a post-show Q&A session with the cast.

Stables of Como

Sometimes keeping it simple is the perfect way to celebrate your loved ones. Might we suggest scones for two at the ever-elegant Stables of Como, in South Yarra? Set against Como House and Gardens, enjoy the elegant fusion of past and present as you escape the hustle of your daily routine. Did we mention the scones?

Members receive Devonshire tea for two at a discounted rate.

NOTE: The Stables have a separate function running for Mother’s Day, so let mum know she can redeem her tickets on another day.

Members get discounted High Tea at the convent for two, or Devonshire tea coupled with a self-guided tour of the convent gallery and gardens.

The High Tea is not valid for redemption on Mother’s Day – mum can redeem her gift voucher at leisure later on.

The Comics Lounge Comedy Club

Is your mum mourning the end of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival? Keep the laughs coming with tickets to the Comics Lounge in North Melbourne. It’s been a Melbourne institution for almost 15 years, and is graced each week by up-and-coming comedians and household names alike. The perfect gift to help mum let go of her responsibilities for an evening.

Members get 20 per cent off tickets.

Mornington Peninsula Hot Springs

Head down to Peninsula Hot Springs in Rye for an assortment of treatments that will come close to thanking your mum for everything she does for you. Sit back and relax in natural thermal mineral waters against the idyllic backdrop of the Mornington Peninsula.

Members can choose from a couple of exclusive deals, so you can tailor the experience to your mum. If you’re lucky she’ll even let you come along.

NOTE: The Hot Springs are booked out for Mother’s Day, so book for a later date.

Going to the movies might seem like a regular day out but with Gold Class you’re bumping that up to a whole new experience. Treat your mum to an evening of luxury filled with wine, delicious food and the comfiest seats while she enjoys the latest flick.

If you want to create a day your mum will never forget, it’s hard to go past a sunrise hot air balloon flight over the city. Set off at dawn and catch the sunrise while you get a birds-eye view over Melbourne or the Yarra Valley.
