2027 Nissan Patrol Y63: price, specs and release date in Australia

The long-awaited new Y63 Nissan Patrol is now on sale in Australia, taking the fight up to the Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series. Here’s a full rundown on Nissan’s bigger, more powerful and more expensive flagship 4x4 SUV.
Orders are now being taken for the new-generation 2027 Nissan Patrol Y63 before it hits Australian soil early next year, launching with six model variants, a powerful twin-turbo petrol V6 (replacing the previous V8) and, according to Nissan, “a new level of off-road capability”.
Equipped with new ways of adapting to on-road and off-road conditions, wider digital displays and a higher 3700kg braked towing capacity,Nissan’s new flagship4x4 SUV is an eight-seater across the board that undercuts its arch-rival Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series on price.
After 13 years with the Y62 series, the Australian launch range for the Y63 Nissan Patrol is now locked in, with pricing, key features and crucial local specs available. Was it worth the wait? Let’s take a look.

When does the Y63 Nissan Patrol go on sale in Australia?
Nissan dealers are now taking orders for the 2027 Nissan Patrol, with first customer deliveries expected in early 2027.
Final examples of the MY26 Y62 Nissan Patrol – “the last V8 Patrol”, as Nissan is promoting it – are still available to order on the Japanese brand’s Australian website and through dealers. There is no word yet on an Australian-developed Y63 Patrol Warrior, but it’s anticipated to join the new Patrol line-up down the track.
How much does the new 2027 Nissan Patrol cost?
Prices for the new MY27 Y63 Nissan Patrol start from $98,990 plus on-road costs, an increase of around $2450 compared to the 2026 model range.
Nissan has expanded the line-up from two Y62 variants in 2026 (Ti and Ti-L) to six different choices in 2027 with the Y63 Patrol, adding Ti+ and Ti-L+ variants and higher-series Pro-4X and flagship Ti-L Reserve models, the latter topping out at $145,990 plus ORCs. See our price box below for full details, but the Y63 Ti-L is about $15,500 more expensive than the equivalent Y62 Ti-L.
Not much separates the new Y63 Nissan Patrol from the Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series in terms of price. The LC300 range starts at $99,270 plus ORCs for the diesel-powered LandCruiser 300 GX, up to $156,740 plus ORCs for the petrol-electric Sahara ZX Performance Hybrid.
Every Patrol is backed by Nissan's 10-year/300,000km warranty, but it requires owners to service their car at an authorised Nissan dealer for the entire period of the warranty. Service intervals are every 12 months or 15,000km (whichever comes first), with the costs at each service capped at $499 per annum for the first five years.
The headlights and tail-lights have been redesigned on the Y63 Nissan Patrol, with two interlocking C-shaped elements on each side.
2027 Nissan Patrol Y63 design and specification
The Australian release marks the global debut of the right-hand-drive Y63 Nissan Patrol, with redesigned exteriors and interiors and upgrades to the chassis, drivetrain and suspension systems across the range.
All models in the 2027 Nissan Patrol line-up have a maximum braked towing capacity of 3700kg, up 200kg on key rivals including the Toyota LandCruiser 300.
Slightly longer and wider than the Y62, the new-generation Patrol measures 5205mm long, 2030mm wide and 1945mm high, retaining a 3075mm wheelbase.
Nissan says the Y63 Patrol chassis offers 40 per cent more torsional rigidity than Y62, thanks to a new ladder frame. Electric power steering is also now standard on Patrol, along with independent multi-link suspension. The latter includes Intelligent Dynamic Damping (or e-Damper) technology on Ti-L and Ti-L+ grades, adjusting to changing road/terrain conditions, while the Pro-4X picks up adaptive air suspension.
When it comes to the exterior, Nissan designers have worked to create a more commanding road presence for the Patrol, widening its signature V-motion grille and integrating it more deeply into the vehicle bodywork. Also new on the exterior are redesigned headlights and tail-lights, built with two interlocking C-shaped LED elements on each side.
Nissan has revised the colour options for the range, removing the merlot red but offering a dark grey, white, black and blue option for the Y63 Patrol, as well as three two-tone options of white, grey or forest green with a black roof.
Inside, there’s three rows of seating on all variants, offering enough space to comfortably accommodate up to eight adults, according to Nissan.
Materials step up through the range – the Patrol Ti and Ti+ have synthetic leather seats in a charcoal colour, while the Ti-L has the choice of tan or charcoal synthetic leather. The Pro-4X has its own charcoal synthetic leather design with specific highlights, while the Ti-L+ and Ti-L Reserve offer quilted leather-accented seats in either white on beige, espresso on charcoal or burgundy on charcoal.
The Ti-L+ and Pro-4X have heated and ventilated front seats and massage functionality available for the driver, and for the driver and front passenger on Ti-L Reserve.
The Ti-L+, Pro-4X and Ti-L Reserve also feature a biometric cooling system that automatically adjusts the climate control in response to the temperature of passengers on entry.
The six-tiered 2027 Nissan Patrol range starts at the Ti, which is already a well-equipped SUV but increases in levels of luxury before splitting into the off-road-focused Pro-4X and premium Ti-L Reserve flagship.

What powers the new 2027 Nissan Patrol?
Nissan has dropped its long-serving 5.6-litre naturally-aspirated petrol V8 for the 2027 Y63 Nissan Patrol, switching to its VR engine family with a 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged petrol V6.
The new V6 produces 317kW of power and 700Nm of torque, up from 298kW/560Nm in the outgoing V8. As well as the higher output, Nissan says the new V6 reaches peak torque earlier in the rev range, delivering stronger performance in everyday driving, towing and off-road conditions. Official fuel economy figures are still to be released.
For comparison, the Toyota LandCruiser’s 3.3-litre twin-turbo diesel V6 produces 227kW/700Nm, while Toyota’s new 300 Series Performance Hybrid – which pairs a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 with an electric motor – offers 341kW and 790Nm.
Whereas the V8 Patrol combines with a seven-speed automatic, the new V6 pairs with a nine-speed auto transmission. Full-time four-wheel drive is standard, plus a low-range transfer case, electronic locking rear differential and eight drive/terrain modes.
Nissan has also added a scavenger oil pump designed to maintain lubrication on steep inclines and off-camber terrain, pointing to its improved off-road credentials (see next section).

How good is the new Nissan Patrol off-road?
The new 2027 Nissan Patrol’s mechanical overhaul and standard equipment all point to a vehicle that should be as proficient off-road as ever. The more rigid ladder-frame chassis, high-tech camera views, standard dual-range transfer case and locking rear differential are all pointers to this.
At least until an Australian-developed Y63 Patrol Warrior turns up, the new Patrol Pro-4X is the off-road champion of the new series, bringing “a new level of off-road capability to the Patrol range”, according to Nissan.
This is aided by adaptive air suspension, which enables the driver to lift the ride height to improve approach, breakover and departure angles. The vehicle can also be lowered when shifted into park for easier entry, exit and cargo loading.
The Pro-4X is also fitted with all-terrain tyres and a unique front bumper fascia designed to further improve the approach angle.
That’s in addition to some unique cosmetic features, including red accents on the tow hooks, wheel-cap letting and D-pillar, plus a new three-slot grille treatment similar to the Nissan Pathfinder and Navara said to be inspired by Nissan’s off-road heritage.
What safety and technology features on the Y63 Nissan Patrol?
No ANCAP or Euro NCAP safety rating has yet been issued for the 2027 Nissan Patrol. That said, a series of new technologies and safety features are installed as standard across the new Y63 range.
All Patrol variants feature Nissan’s new ‘Monolith’ display, with dual 12.3-inch digital screens on Ti and Ti+ variants, increasing to 14.3-inch on all other models. These screens host infotainment, navigation and the NissanConnect connected car services suite, with Google built-in and Google Gemini AI installed as standard.
Among technologies displayed on these screens are images from the so-called “skeleton view” Intelligent Around View Monitor that gives the driver a view of the terrain below the vehicle. The camera is fixed on the Ti and Ti+ and equipped with 3D rotation on other variants.
Ti-L, Ti-L+, Pro-4X and Ti-L Reserve models also feature a head-up display and a 12-speaker Klipsch premium audio system with 12-channel, 600-watt amplifier. Ti-L Reserve adds dual 12.8-inch entertainment screens in the second row.
Nissan’s comprehensive ProPILOT+ suite of semi-autonomous driver assist technology is fitted across the range. The new Patrol also includes trailer blind spot warning, with trailer docking support and an electronic trailer brake controller standard on Ti-L Reserve and Pro-4X.
Automatic collision notification with emergency call (eCall) capability is anticipated on the new Patrol, but still to be confirmed.
