Am I covered? Find out before you travel

It's true that travel offers some amazing and exciting activities which you can't always experience at home, but it's important that you check whether or not you'll be covered by your travel insurance policy if you want to participate in any of them.

There's also the chance the country you're visiting is in the midst of a natural disaster, which could affect how you get home, how you get to your next destination or even where you stay.

Simple awareness of what your travel insurance policy covers, and doesn't cover, could save you thousands of dollars in medical and transport costs.

Travel insurance with natural disaster cover

RACV Travel Insurance provides cover for reasonable emergency expenses caused by natural disasters and severe weather conditions.

While RACV Travel Insurance does include natural disaster cover, if you purchase your policy knowing the event has occurred, no cover is available.

Examples of natural disasters include:

  • Earthquakes
  • Volcanic activity or eruptions
  • Hurricanes, tornados, cyclones,
  • Floods, tsunamis, tidal waves
  • Snow storms, blizzards or adverse weather events.
