The majority of winners of the RACV Victorian Tourism Awards will compete at the 2016 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards.
More than 50 Victorians are expected travel to Darwin to compete in their respective categories and to be recognised for their outstanding achievements.
"Each year we celebrate the commitment and achievements of tourism and hospitality businesses from all states and territories,” says Australian Tourism Awards Chairman Daniel Gschwind.
“It is they who lead the industry in creating outstanding products and services for visitors, generating growth and jobs in an industry that contributes so much to our economy."
Winners of categories 1 through to 25 of the RACV Victorian Tourism Awards automatically progress for judging at a national level at the annual Qantas Australian Tourism Awards. Category and criteria are set by the Australian Tourism Industry Council (ATIC) for all states and territories.
The Gala Ceremony in Darwin on 24 February is expected to draw together around 600 tourism representatives from across the country along with federal and state tourism ministers and tourism industry leaders. The host location for this event rotates throughout the states and territories, with the 2018 host city to be announced at the Darwin Gala Ceremony.
