Can I test drive EVs at Everything Electric Melbourne 2025?
Based at the Melbourne Showgrounds makes the Everything Electric show an ideal venue for test driving new electric cars, and the organisers are describing it as Australia’s largest EV test drive program.
According to the organisers, there will be “thousands” of EV test drives of select cars available each day, but they’ll be on a first-come-first-served basis and will need to be booked directly with the manufacturers at the event. As such, show attendees are urged to book early on the day/s you are attending.
Conditions will apply, such as participants holding a full current driver’s licence (ensure you bring this to the event). Additional checks may be required by the manufacturer, and you may need to sign a waiver acknowledging the risks and responsibilities associated with the test drive. Child booster seats will also not be provided, so drivers are urged to bring their own if they wish to have a child participate in the drive.
To test ride electric motorcycles at the event, participants will need to bring their own safety gear including a helmet (mandatory) and gloves, jacket, boots, etc (recommended). A full current motorcycle licence is also required.
Electric skateboards, scooters and e-bikes will also be available to test ride as part of a Micro-Mobility Test Track Experience at the show.
