Five great Mother's Day Activities

Treat your mum on Mother’s Day with lunch or high tea, an indulgent cake, a One Spa treatment, a perfumery workshop or a rail tour.

There’s something extra special about Mother’s Day this year. The second Sunday in May is a chance for families to come together and celebrate after those prolonged periods of separation many experienced during lockdown.

It’s also a big day for RACV Club. We have organised, special dining events, a perfumery workshop, a gourmet getaway on Puffing Billy and special deals at One Spa to make it easy for families to make a fuss of the special women in their lives.

A cake from Le Petit Gateau decorated for Mother's Day

Berry special

The chefs at Melbourne’s best patisserie, Le Petite Gâteau, are experts at creating memorable cakes with layers of luscious flavours and creamy textures. Their Mother’s Day cake is no exception.

Encased in pink-tinged white chocolate glaze, a layer of strawberry compote is held between stratums of vanilla mousse and coconut compote (custard) atop a lemon sponge. The result is simply sublime. If you do nothing else to celebrate Mother’s Day, one of these cakes will delight your mother or grandmother.

Order and pick-up available 3 - 7 May at Le Petite Gâteau, 458 Little Collins Street. Large cake, $58. Call (03) 9944 8893 or email orders@ lepetitgateau.com.au.

For the Mother’s Day lunch on May 9, Mum can enjoy a glass of sparkling wine on arrival followed by a five-course set menu. Seafood lovers should head to Healesville Country Club & Resort for the midday seafood buffet in Terrace Restaurant. For those who love an assortment of savoury and sweet, there’s high tea with sparkling wine in Healesville’s Grand Conservatory.
