Luggage and travel document replacement, credit for delayed luggage

For approved claims, luggage will be repaired or replaced if it gets lost, is stolen or damaged. For lost travel documents and credit cards, or those illegally used by someone other than you or your travelling companion, there is cover for their replacement or cost resulting from their fraudulent use. Lastly, receive reimbursement# towards clothing and essentials if your luggage is delayed by over ten hours.

Round-the-clock emergency medical assistance

Give yourself the best defence for unforeseen circumstances with 24/7 emergency medical assistance and $unlimited** hospital cover. Receive $50 per 24 -hour period# if your stay in hospital exceeds 48 hours. Plus, be covered for a range of automatically covered conditions including Diabetes Type 1 and 2, high blood pressure and cover for pregnancy# up to the 25th week provided conditions meet specific criteria.

Motorcycle, moped and scooter cover

From party-central Phuket, to the lush jungle of Chiang Mai, explore the island’s most popular regions while riding a moped or motorcycle with cover included at no extra cost^. You or the driver must hold a current Australian Driver’s Licence or a valid licence for Thailand and you must be wearing a helmet and not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

** $unlimited means there is no cap on the maximum dollar amount which may be paid out for this benefit, noting that how much is payable for a benefit depends on the specific cover in the relevant section of the Policy Wording and any applicable exclusions. 

  • Mopeds and scooters: The driver must hold a current Australian Driver's Licence (this doesn't include a learner's permit) or a valid driver’s licence for the country in which they're driving, even if that country does not require the policy holder to have a valid driver’s licence.
  • Motorcycles: The driver must hold a current Australian Motorcycle Licence or a valid driver’s licence for the country in which they're driving, even if that country does not require the policy holder to have a valid driver’s licence.
  • Mopeds, scooters, motorcycles, quad bikes: Both the driver and passenger must be wearing a helmet.
  • Mopeds, scooters and motorcycles: Cover is only provided for injuries sustained whilst on the moped, scooter, or motorcycle - there is no cover for damage to any two-wheeled vehicles.

If any of the conditions above aren't adhered to, your RACV Travel Insurance policy may not cover you in the case of an accident. International Drivers Permits are available for most countries. Please check the country list for full details and possible exclusions.
