Byramine Homestead and Brewery
Historic Byramine Homestead was built in 1842 by famous explorer Hamilton Hume for his widowed sister-in-law Elizabeth. The building is classified by the National Trust for its unique design and is the oldest homestead in Victoria. It features octagonal shaped rooms and a central fortress room. The design worked well for the hot climate and for protection from the bushrangers and natives who attached the homestead for supplies.
Today the Byramine Homestead is home to a boutique brewery showcasing a great range of beers, ciders, ginger beer and wines. Guests are able to tour the homestead, enjoy Devonshire tea’s, light lunches and the brewery’s delights.
