shrine of remembrance

RACV members have been helping our veterans since World War I when they met ships at Station Pier and transported returned soldiers to hospitals around Melbourne. This tradition continues today by helping our veterans attend the Anzac Day march.

RACV offers two services for medically restricted servicemen and women unable to walk the Anzac Day route. The first service matches veterans with an RACV volunteer who will pick them up from their home, drive them to the city and in the march to the Shrine then drive them home.

The second service is for volunteers to be part of a pool of cars located at a meeting point in the city who are then allocated veterans to transport within the march. We are looking for members with vehicles that are no older than 2010, a four-door medium SUV or medium or large sedan.

If you would like to volunteer for either of these services please contact RACV Community & Corporate Responsibility on 03 9790 2975.
